Petunia Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary with Heirloom by Petunia

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

This year, Petunia Pickle Bottom celebrates their 10 year anniversary by introducing Heirloom by Petunia– a limited edition fabric to celebrate 10 years of striking bold new paths across the fashion landscape for mothers the world over.

DeNaiHoldingBagThe Heirloom by Petunia fabric is a showcase of Petunia’s most adored and iconic patterns, woven into one from the past ten years. Striking a pitch-perfect balance between classic charm and modern sensibility, Petunia’s limited edition 10th anniversary diaper bag will be one that mother’s will want to pass down to future generations.

“I wanted to design a fabric that symbolized a modern day memory quilt for Petunia,” says Denai Jones, President and Founder. “It has been a profound experience to reflect and reminisce about the fabrics from season’s pasts – so many life and company evolutions and experiences inspired the fabrics over the last 10 years. I am looking forward to all the futures journeys and creating fashionable, functional lifestyle products for savvy parents.”

The Holidays and Family Traditions

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Our November Facebook contest was about Honoring Family and Traditions. We had a tremendous response and wanted to share some of these great traditions.

We learned that many families open a new pair a pj’s on Christmas Eve, baking with friends and loved ones is a time honored tradition, and giving to families in need is special time shared by many of our fans.  The Petunia Pickle Bottom team was really inspired by the traditions shared and picked up a few news ones to start in their own families.

RedVelvet_CClutch_Front lo resIn the end, we could only select 3 finalists that needed to rally their friends and family to vote for their tradition to win the highly coveted Red Velvet Cake Cameo Clutch.

Rally and campaign they did, but there could only be one winner, which was Tracy Hanish and her families pickle ornament tradition. Every Christmas Eve the pickle ornament is hung on the tree after the children have gone to bed. On Christmas morning, the first child to find the pickle receives a special present. Congratulations, Tracy and thank you for sharing!

Finalists -

Anilla Del Fabbro, FINALIST

Being a full time mom and working full time leaves little time or energy for being sexy, feminine or one’s own person. PPB items allow a little mystery; beauty and flirtiness back into my life. And all the bags and clutches are practical…but who would guess?!

Tanya Dieckman Herrera, FINALIST

I moved from the fast paced lifestyle in LA to the suburbs of Nor. Cal for love. When I had my daughter, I knew I didn’t want to lose my fashion sense & had to have PPB. This clutch is the ultimate fashion Mommy accessory! It’s functional, classy, sophisticated and just hot! I would love to have family outings & proudly display that the “everyday Mom” can be stylish & sexy too!

Christie Arias, FINALIST

Fashion Sense? I almost never have extra time to pick out what I am going to wear…PPB is my fashion! Even if I run out in sweats … my bag always looks amazing & makes me feel good.

Katie Wahl, FINALIST

I know that even when I smell like sour milk, have crazy hair, possibly two different socks on, that all I need is a pair of hot sunglasses and this chic little bag to get out the door looking like and instant hot mom:). That feeling is priceless!

Sally Young Schaeffer, FINALIST

I bought my PPB after my daughter’s birth. The beauty of it & how it makes me feel didn’t come to the surface until 5 mos. after her birth she was diagnosed w/a rare chrom. disorder. The struggle of raising a special needs child isn’t always easy but when I walk the halls of the hospital & I receive compliments on my daughter’s bright eyes & my bag, I have a renewed sense of beauty.

You’ve got the bag, but now what to fill it with? Or more importantly, what not to fill it with.

Sometimes diaper bags can become so bogged down with baby gear that they lose their usefulness as you dig to find your cell phone or that container of wipes. Through a combination of pairing down and organizing what remains, PPB owner and designer DeNai Jones shows you how to keep your diaper bag fashionable and functional in her recent article on The Cradle, a website for all things pregnancy and parenting. From baby essentials to mommy must-haves, find out what should be in – and out – of your diaper bag in Diaper Bag Essentials.

I love it when I happen to see a good movie…I love it even more when I see a good movie and spy a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag!

I was delighted to see the Tutu Roll Boxy Backpack share the big screen with Jennifer Garner and Jason Bateman in the Independent Film Sensation “Juno“, an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival and official selection of the Telluride Film Festival.

Be sure to check out this great feel good movie, playing in theaters everywhere.
